What’s Awakening In You Now?

Pick a Tarot Pile to Find Out

The Spring Equinox is almost here — get ready to step over the threshold into the light-half of the year with the promise of longer days. This is a time of renewal when the earth visibly awakens into life. The first signs, the first tender shoots, the unfurling leaf-bud, have blossomed into real hope — spring has arrived.

Maybe we doubted it would happen, maybe we were losing confidence as dark day followed dark day and our bones chilled in the raw wind. But here it is, buds, birds and beautiful sunshine — even if it is a little fleeting still.

Enjoy this season of new beginnings and possibility. You’re waking as the earth warms, just as the trees stretch and put out new buds and blossoms — sense the rigid limitations of winter thawing, and something fresh, green and vibrant stirring within you. Throw the doors and windows open to let the old out and the new in.

Because something is awakening within you now — nurture this hope as tenderly as you would a delicate green shoot, or the first pink hawthorn-blossom bud. Pick a pile to find out more about what it is, then relax, be patient and trust that it will blossom in its own way, and at the time that is absolutely right.

Before we begin, take a deep breath, slow your thoughts and tune in to your deeper intuition. Which pile is drawing you? It may be that there isn’t a message that resonates with you this time, just trust your soul to know what’s right for you.

What’s awakening for you now is a sense of celebration. It might be a milestone, it might be a personal achievement, but don’t hold back, allow yourself the time to recognise and enjoy what you’ve accomplished.

Raise garlands to it, sing songs about it, do your celebration dance — you deserve it. Or maybe you prefer to celebrate more quietly — allowing yourself the quiet satisfaction of knowing you’ve arrived where you wish to be, that you’re where you belong.

As we reach the Equinox, you can pause and take a step back to look at what led up to this moment. You made your plans and carried them through, you took the risks and held your nerve, and now you can rest assured that you’re entering a time of stability and steadiness that you can rejoice in now, and build on for the future.

Recognise that as the earth blossoms now, things are also coming into ripeness and fruition for you, too. You’re beginning to harvest the fruits of your labour and it feels so sweet. Don’t let it pass without giving it the honour it deserves. This noting and commemorating the good times is what will give you fuel for the future. And it never does any harm to show your appreciation and gratitude to the Universe, either, so that the Universe will continue to smile kindly on you.

Because it hasn’t been easy getting to this point. There have been conflicts and disagreements — and many times you’ve wondered whether it was actually worth it or if you should just walk away.

But if the battle took its toll, it also taught you your own power and showed you how you can learn from your mistakes and emerge stronger and wiser.

And this season of hope and renewal may be a good time to rebuild those bridges that were battered by the storms. Be generous in victory and make amends where you can — you can afford to. And you can also afford to look back and recognize where you could have maybe picked your battles more wisely — and just tuck that learning away for the future.

Because this isn’t the end of it, you have plenty more to do. This is just a joyful pause, a holiday — there’ll be more to celebrate as you build on the strength and stability you’ve already gained.

Think about joining forces now, aligning yourself and your plans with others heading in the same direction who can support and encourage you — even if it’s only with a sense of fellow-feeling. You may be able to go faster on your own, but you’ll go even farther with allies beside you. You don’t have to do it all yourself, not from now on — give others the pleasure of helping you and bringing their own skills and experience into the mix.

Because this is a whole new phase opening up for you now. This isn’t the same type of energy and motivation that got you here, nor is it the same inspiration — this is solid, dependable building from now on. It’s about going farther than before, maybe even farther than you ever thought you could go.

How difficult was it, in the depths of winter, to gaze at the grey, frozen landscape and picture the rich abundance of summer? But once those first green shoots came through, how much more certain did it seem that there would, one day, be bountiful light and life?

Your motivation and inspiration now come from already knowing you’re on the right track and the realisation that you can actually do it. Keep going, stay optimistic and make steady progress towards your next goal in this season of flourishing growth. Who knows what you’ll have good reason to celebrate by the time the Autumn Equinox comes around.

What’s awakening within you now is the realisation that things are going to change. They have to — and however much upheaval it causes, it’s all going to be worth it.

Maybe spring brings the restless awareness of wider horizons — a renewed hope about an ambition you once held.

Maybe it comes with the need to do some radical spring-cleaning of your life — declutter your relationships or circumstances — reminding you it’s time to shake up your aspirations, dust them off and freshen them up. And, like spring-cleaning, you’ll need to take things apart, make a mess and get through some serious sweat and tears before you can put everything back together again and enjoy the result.

Because things that were tolerable while it was still winter and everything was inert and dormant, appear so very different in the clear light of Spring. For you, the Equinox strikes like a bolt of lightning bringing clarity and insight. Cutting through the deadwood to reveal the truth — toppling complacency and your illusions in its path.

Imagine a bear sleeping in a cave, hibernating for the winter. Wrapped up in dreams, all warm and comfortable until… TARANTARAHHH! Spring stamps in blowing trumpets, banging drums, ringing bells and beating gongs shouting, “Wake up. Wake up. Life is here!”

Why now? Because you’re waking up to the idea that you need to step back and look at the bigger picture. Maybe questions are beginning to form — have you made the right choices? Are you on the right path? Are you focusing on the right goal? You’ve gained a lot, but is it enough? Do you want to devote the rest of your life, your heart, your soul to this now that you’ve seen what the rewards actually are? Is this what your energy, purpose and passion were meant for?

You can’t kid yourself any more. You’re harvesting the real results of all your experiences to date. And you have enough information now to decide what seeds you want to plant for all the future harvests to come. Do you want to plant and nurture more of the same — is it an enjoyable, flavoursome crop you’ve gathered? Or did it turn out to be disappointingly bland or even bitter?

There are no guarantees — waking up will bring more questions and the answers will only become apparent with time. The green shoots are all there, but it takes a rare expert to tell whether they’re golden daffodils or pale narcissi before they actually break into flower.

To weather this spring storm effectively, you’ll need to clear your mind. Rest, and recharge your energy to get yourself in good shape for this new phase of your life. But it’s import you don’t just go back to sleep again, pulling those comfortable illusions back over you like a warm duvet. You’re awake now, stay that way. Rest mindfully — calm the mental noise, create time, space and peace for yourself to review things clearly and with gentle curiosity.

Review where you are, where you want to be and assess your values and priorities. Look at what’s still working for you, and what isn’t — and what do you need to do about that. It’s time to focus on your long-term future now — take your time and don’t put yourself under pressure to come up with an instant solution. This is your path into Summer that you’re creating, and the path that will take you forward into the rest of your life.

What’s awakening within you now is a longing for balance. Just as light and dark, day and night balance perfectly for a few, brief days, so too are you seeking that same balance and harmony in your life now.

Maybe it’s all been a bit much for you, one way or another, but your cup is full and you really don’t want any more. Now you have to decide where your true balance lies, and what is truly important to you. You may have to say no to something for now, but what’s meant for you won’t pass you by in the end.

Hold back a little and let Spring take its natural course. Daffodils won’t flower if it’s too cold. The ability and the impulse are all there ready and waiting, curled in the bud — but the conditions have to be right to coax the petals to unfurl and show their colours. There has to be the right amount of warm and cool, light and dark — the balance must be right.

And conditions need to be right for you too, now. It’s time to look inwards before you decide your next steps and unfurl your own petals. Look for where your true peace and harmony lie and create a space where you feel grounded and secure in your values and beliefs.

However good something looks, if it’s not aligned with who you truly are, your energy won’t flow smoothly with it and it will always be hard work.

Find what flows naturally with you — what saps your energy and what actually gives energy back to you when you do it. You know the difference when you feel it — some days seem to drain all your strength even though you’re achieving your targets, while others — even if you end up physically tired — add abundantly to your store of satisfaction.

Because where energy flows, your motivation follows. When you’re flowing on your own harmonious path, you don’t need to summon quite so much will-power and determination, so you have more energy to put into the thing you’re actually doing.

Find your point of balance. The more balanced you are, the less easy it is to push or pull you off-balance — things flow more easily, more effortlessly, and with less resistance. Life feels less frantic, less stressful. Little things don’t bother you as much and you can experience greater satisfaction and fulfilment in your life with much less effort.

Because by finding your true balance, you can begin to step into your true power and assert you true authority over your life.

When you know where your true balance and harmony lie, when you establish a space where you feel grounded and secure in your values and beliefs, when you’re aligned with who you truly are, you can begin to create a clear vision of what it is you want to manifest.

And when your will and purpose are balanced and aligned, you can make plans and organize the world around you to help you manifest your goal. It all begins with looking inwards now — taking time to look for the green shoots of balance and harmony that will blossom and flourish into the leader
